IMPLANTOLOGY
Implantology is becoming increasingly widespread and it is taught worldwide in all dentistry schools. In fact, dental implants are identical to real teeth and create a completely natural sensation in the oral cavity. Dental implants can be considered for patients who are missing one or more teeth. Implants give the impression of having natural teeth, both aesthetically and functionally, and act as an artificial root anchored in the bone of the jaw, like a natural tooth root. The patients may, therefore, regain the integrity of their facial features that had been affected by the loss of several teeth.
For high quality and long-lasting prosthesis, it is important to properly select the dental implants design that fits the individual clinical case and install it in an absolutely accurate three-dimensional (3D) position. The installation accuracy is achieved through detailed preliminary planning with digital tomography and the use of surgical templates, but primarily due to doctors experience and qualifications.
Occasionally, atrophy or inflammation processes may lead to a situation when there is not sufficient jaw bone volume and mucous substance for the correct placement of dental implants. In such cases, modern materials and appropriate dental surgery techniques are used to restore bone defects.
Thanks to improved methodologies and high-quality materials, the healing process after dental implant placement occurs quite quickly and painlessly.
It takes 1-3 months for the implant to graft into the patient’s bone tissue, basically after 1-3 months it is possible to place permanent teeth on the implants. However, in most cases, temporary teeth can be placed immediately after the implantation procedure.
In our clinic we are working with more than 10 different dental implant systems (Straumann, Nobel Biocare, AstraTech, Ankylos, Xive, Zimmer and others) to meet our patients any request and any clinical case.
